The short version. Yammi has no accounts, no analytics and no servers of its own. Your preferences, your scan history and your saved products stay on your device. If you subscribe, Apple processes the payment and an anonymous purchase record — never your name or email — is used to unlock Premium. That is the entire list.
Yammi ("the app", "we", "us") is a barcode scanner that looks up food and cosmetic products and rates their ingredients. This policy explains exactly what happens to information when you use it.
Yammi does not ask you to create an account, sign in, or provide your name, email address, phone number or date of birth. We do not operate a server that stores user data, and we have no way to identify you.
The app contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no third-party tracking SDKs of any kind. Nothing about your usage is measured or reported back to us.
The following is saved locally in the app's private storage on your phone. It never leaves your device and is not backed up to any service we control:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your dietary preferences and ingredients you chose to avoid | So scores reflect what matters to you |
| Your scan history | So you can revisit products you have scanned |
| Products you saved | So you can find them again |
| A cached copy of product records you looked up | So repeat scans work quickly and offline, and to reduce load on the public database |
You can erase all of it at any time — see section 7.
Yammi asks for camera permission for one purpose: reading the barcode in front of the lens. Camera frames are processed on your device in real time and are never stored, never uploaded and never sent to us or anyone else. The app does not take photographs and has no photo library access.
When you scan a barcode or run a search, the app sends that barcode number (or your search words) to the open product databases below in order to fetch the product record:
These are run by Open Food Facts, a French non-profit association. The request contains the barcode or search term and an identifier naming the app. As with any internet request, their servers also receive your device's IP address. No name, account, device identifier, advertising ID or location is attached. Their handling of that data is governed by the Open Food Facts privacy policy.
Beyond these, the app also contacts RevenueCat to check subscription status — described in section 6. There are no other network requests.
Yammi offers an optional subscription. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through your App Store account — we never receive your name, email address, card number or billing address.
To know whether your device has an active subscription, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription management service. RevenueCat receives a random identifier generated for your installation, the purchase history of this app, and basic device information (model, OS version, language). That identifier is not linked to your name, email or any account, because none exists in Yammi.
In App Store privacy-label terms this is “Purchases” data, not linked to your identity, used only for app functionality.
We do not sell, rent, trade or share personal information, because we do not hold any. There is no advertising in the app and no data broker relationship of any kind.
Because everything is local, you are always in control:
No request to us is needed, and there is nothing left on our side to delete.
Yammi is a general-audience app that does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. Since no personal information is collected from any user, no separate parental consent mechanism is required.
Privacy laws such as the GDPR (Europe), UK GDPR and CCPA (California) give you rights to access, correct, export or erase personal data a company holds about you. Beyond the anonymous purchase record described in section 6, we hold nothing — the data described in section 3 is already entirely in your possession on your own device, and section 8 explains how to remove it.
If the app ever begins collecting data, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change. Material changes will also be described in the App Store release notes.
