Questions, problems and how to get help

Email us at yammi.app.support@gmail.com. Please include your device model, iOS version, the app version (Profile → bottom of the screen) and, if it is about a specific product, its barcode number.

"Product not found"

Yammi looks products up in Open Food Facts and Open Beauty Facts — open databases built by volunteers who photograph packaging and type in ingredient lists. Coverage is very strong for European products and thinner elsewhere, so some items simply are not in there yet.

This is not a fault in the app, and we cannot add a product for you from our side. Anyone can add one, though, and it takes a couple of minutes with the packaging in hand:

Once a product is in the database, Yammi will find it on the next scan.

The ingredients or nutrition shown are wrong

The record itself needs correcting, and that happens at the source rather than in the app. Open the product on the Open Food Facts website, sign up, and edit it — corrections appear in Yammi once your device refetches the record.

Yammi keeps a copy of each product for a week so scans stay fast and work offline. To pull fresh data immediately, go to Profile → Data & privacy → Clear cached products.

Scanning is not working

"Too many scans right now"

The public databases limit how often they can be queried. Waiting a minute clears it. This is a limit on their side, not a restriction we impose.

Why did this product get that score?

Every point deducted is listed on the product screen with the reason for it — there is no hidden arithmetic. Scores combine the ingredient and additive rules built into the app with the dietary preferences you set in Profile, so the same product can score differently for two people.

Scores are informational only and are not medical, nutritional or allergy advice. Please read the Terms of Use before relying on them, particularly the section on allergies.

How do I delete my data?

Everything Yammi stores is on your own device. Profile → Data & privacy → Reset app erases your preferences, history and saved items; deleting the app removes everything. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Yammi, or the App Store app → your profile → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

I subscribed but Premium is locked

Make sure you are signed into the same Apple ID that purchased the subscription, then use Restore purchases on the paywall screen. If it still does not unlock, email us with the approximate purchase date.

Do you have my personal information?

No accounts, no analytics, no server of ours holding your data. If you subscribe, an anonymous purchase record (never your name or email) is used to unlock Premium — see the Privacy Policy.
